Whirlwind (The X-Files)

Whirlwind (The X-Files) - Charles Grant I'm a believer in extraterrestrial and was a dedicated watcher when X-Files did its thing on Fox.

This would of been one of the boring shows, that we would wait all week to see. But the author Charles Grant I feel like he definitely gave it the mood of the actual show.

Shoedog

Shoedog - George Pelecanos I think even if I read this title myself, I would of been bored.

Saga, Vol. 2

Saga, Volume 2 - Brian K. Vaughan, Fiona Staples Brian K. Vaughn is the comic book God. Now we have to wait til next issue.

Life In The Second Circle - Poems

Life In The Second Circle - Poems - Michael Cantor This is actually 2.5 stars, Thirty something poems and I found what I liked and counted with one hand and don't need a pinky finger.

Wendy Videlock says on the back cover "This is not your mother's book of poems." I can see why since some of these poems about pimps, Whores, sexual activities. But to much story poetry for me. I like the surreal stuff. my favorites below.

-Freshly Shaved and Barbed We'll
-Ceremonies
-Prologue
-Retired, and Living in Seclusion near Las Vegas

My Mind's Abyss: Suicide Edition

My Mind's Abyss (Suicide Edition)(Recovery, #1) - Volatalistic Phil I have read Phil's poetry collections and was sent a copy of "My Mind's Abyss" as a gift for being a reader of his work. His poetry collection "Scribbles" being his best work. This book had a strong feeling to it.

A mans wit about life and how it tends to spit on you at times. Love, laughter and sad is what "My Mind's Abyss" gives you. All mixed together in kinda a "Go Ask Alice" way. It's not journal entries though just a read that puts truth in black and white.

Some parts of the book, I could relate to. His ex-girlfriend is a crazy bitch with a child. I had one of those in my late teens. Overall it was a readable pleasure.

City of Insomnia

City of Insomnia - Victor Infante Pure poetic. City of Insomnia is dreams left unheard. The words upon these pages is a labyrinth of words and when you find your way to the end. You just want to read it again.

Pg. 19
"No exorcism for ghost that walk like the living, that telephone desperate and starving from gas stations parking lots, begging change for reheated burritos a mausoleum of Styrofoam wrappers."

Pg. 31
The apocalypse leaves a burnt-hair aftertaste. The skyline is on fire. We drank the last of the gasoline with tequila.

Pg. 47
Vader and I are chain-smoking on the porch. I'm going slowly, because he always bums when he runs out. Evidently they don't buy their own on the dark side.

Pg. 73
There are strangers' lost shadows and ebay selling Phoenix eggs.

Write Bloody Publishing knows how to pick there writers. This is the third book of theirs I came across. I am looking into many other titles from this catalog. As for my favorites in Victor Infante's City of Insomnia here are the ones that stood out for me, but the whole poetry collection is amazing.

-Karen's First Murder, Age 12
-Play One More for My Radio Sweetheart
-Elsewhere
-Waiting For the World to End
-Enoch
-Another American July
-New Year's Day

The Endlands (vol 1)

The Endlands - Vincent Hobbes, Patrick C. Greene, Cristin Martin, David Stubblefield, Janelle Garcia, Craig Wessel, Tamara Wilhite, Nathan Palmer, Jordan Benoit, Jairus Reddy, Jennifer Chapman, Christina Estabrook A walk into "The Endlands" brings some interesting tales in the likes of The Twilight Zone. I was looking forward to this anthology after reading a couple of Vincent Hobbes kindle singles. My favorites are listed below.

"A Night in Polidoria" Silver lining walls, garlic clove gardens, holy water in cupboards. But when the sun goes down its choose life or death. Cristin Martin writes a vampiring short of two choices. 3.5 Stars.

"Limbo Population 458" The discovery of an abandoned town. The towns people seem strange almost real. Vincent gives an eerie tale that will leave you saying. She should've went Pee in the woods. 5 Stars

Vincent Hobbes second story "To Read or Not to Read" that is not the question though. It's how much time you want to buy? An imaginary 5 Stars.

"Propaganda" is a story about a man manipulated by a film pointing at the enemy. But in reality its him. The Enemy! A fast pace war story. 5 Stars for Nathan Palmer.

DangerRAMA

DangerRAMA - Danger Slater Danger, Roy Robinson, Danger!

Do you like Sy-fi? Out of this world absurd literature? If you answer yes, then grab your time machines, and spaceships for the ride for life through the mind of the blues of bizarro Danger Slater.

The first of three novellas Knights of White Caste is a time machine goes wrong tale a laughable read but a little dull for me.

Now Somnambulant on the hand is crazy funny. A sleepy disorder of WTF moments. The "Will Smith" we all know makes an odd appearance, that will guarantee smack you in the face with laughter.

The last of the three Me&...... Is a man lost in space that gives "Finger Fucking" a whole new meaning. One small step for man. One huge laugh brought to you by Danger Rama.

Carnival of Death, the

The Carnival of Death - L. Ron Hubbard, R.F. Daley, Jason Faunt, Lori Jablons, Christina Huntington, Tait Ruppert This is my first audiobook, which I also won from LibraryThing. I plan to try more audiobooks real soon!

The walk through the carnival of death was a treat for me. Huge fan of Carnivals, Dark and eerie settings. Really enjoyed the music before chapters. The cast of characters and voice overs I think they did a great job. Oh and L Ron Hubbard is a kickass writer.

Almost forgot about. The other short on this audiobook "Death Flyer" was well told. A train ride with the lurking dead, a whisper in the ear. Another eerie tale, that gives the golden era a thumbs up.

Popaganda

POPaganda: The Art And Subversion Of Ron English - Ron English His obsession with Marilyn Monroe's boobs makes you want pinch Mickey's nose.

Great Artwork, worth the eye-gasm!

Now That You're Big: A Parody

Now That You're Big: A Parody - Simon Greiner "But its not just a thing
that I thought that a thunk
it's all true, so watch out when
you are bumping your junk."

Dr. Seuss style sex-ed. I think this should be read to your daughter child if they start wearing to much make-up. Or boy child starts stealing your pornos mags.

Albert Einstein

Albert Einstein - Susan Temple Kesselring My daughter read this to me. It's pretty much a synopsis of Albert Einstein. but the fact that she read it to me made it a good night.

It doesn't get into details if child actually wants to learn about Einstein's inventions.

Boston Posh

Boston Posh - Wol-vriey The man who defines weird returns with a 400 page bizarro tale, that takes place in the state capital of the town I grew up in.

Do you like chicken straight off the cutting board? Or how bout liver? and that pre packaged garbage at the grocery store, Human liver. Assuming no one raised there hand to second one lets go in to more details.

Boston 2026 over-taken by dragons and dinosaurs. (I kept picturing Super Mario brother alternative Brooklyn, but without the plumbers) Pimps, strange sexual situations and a group of cutlery who is saying "Fork the world and everyone in it"

Just read this Wol-vriey's work doesn't even need a synopsis, if you read his other books you know your in for a ride. If not start here and hang on to your jaw because it may drop to the floor.

Control Bird Alt Delete (Iowa Poetry Prize)

Control Bird Alt Delete (Iowa Poetry Prize) - Alexandria Peary I received a copy from Netgalley after reading a short synopsis about New England and Massachusetts. I knew I was about to read landscape poetry, but I didn't catch my reading pleasure.

I hate to be the first rating with a 2 star review, but the landscape settings had to much "Spring" for me. (that season rips apart my sinuses) As for other readers still check this out its well written at some points from my eyes, just not my type of poetry. My favorite poem was Electrolux. Below is a short quote I pulled from a poem labeled "Lilac" (although I have no idea what it means, but like it)

"I make e's perform like emoticons of grumpy old men in a pyramid of cheerleaders and piece with a shadow of a woman's hat interlocks with a grasshopper on a bed."

A Very StrangeHouse Christmas

A Very StrangeHouse Christmas - Kevin Strange, Rich Bottles Jr., Mike Lombardo, Lindsey Goddard, Jesse Wheeler, K.M. Tepe, Billy Tea, M.P. Johnson, Jonathan Byrd Another anthology from Strangehouse, but this time we celebrate Christmas with splattered horror and Bizarro.

Some new people on board this time and made themselves heard, this anthology is 4 solid stars a great read. Mike Lombardo's piece on top next to Jesse Wheeler.

"Do Not Buy by MP Johnson" what starts out like a nightmare before Christmas toy delivery to every kid. Then the strange guy who does cruel acts to the doll. 3.5 ★s

"The Unlisted by Jesse Wheeler" Santa finds the true meaning of the Naughty List and goes on a cannibalism elf rampage and reindeer sex. 5★s

"Dear Santa by K.M. Tepe" A letter to Santa, oh how many times I've made a wish for Xmas and got coal instead. 4★s

"Blood on The Highway by Lindsey Goddard" A horror lurks in the woods. Camouflaged by the snow and wants revenge. 5★s

"I'm Dreaming of a White Doomsday by Mike Lombardo"
Wow, this was writing at its best. A bomb shelter Christmas.

Seriously, Snow White Was SO Forgetful!: The Story of Snow White as Told by the Dwarves

Seriously, Snow White Was SO Forgetful!: The Story of Snow White as Told by the Dwarves - Nancy Loewen, Gerald Guerlais (Illustrator) I found this funny, my seven year old was my listener as I narrated the other side of the story.

This is a series called "The Other Side of the Story" it takes all the classic princess tales, Little Red Riding Hood, and Jack and The Beanstalk and gives it a twist. Told by one of the other characters from the story.

I have read them all to my kids this one stood out for me as well as Jack and The Beanstalk.
