Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children

Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children - Ransom Riggs Who thought creepy just by looking at the cover of this book. Or maybe scanning through some of the other pictures in the book and thinking hmmm this looks good.
I expected some creeped out ghost story when you get about a quarter of the way. Jacob (the main character) is in basement after smashing a chest open to find a bunch of pictures that have an eerie look to them seeing a bunch of children looking down at him. Chasing a girl in a dress he enters a loop hole where a day in 1940 repeats over and over again. The Peculiar Children do not age and there head mistress (Miss Peregrine) is there professor x. They show off there strange powers in amazement. To the end of book it just takes a roll down hill.
I enjoyed the first 150 pages just expected something different to happen.
The photography with the book gave it a great read. Had the X-Men feel to it with the main character being there Neo.
